Reminiscent of a different time
How long has it been since I lived?
This night seems endless
I have a faint remembrance of the sun
But that was so long ago
Withering away with every step I take
Like a lost and forgotten dream
A fleeting grain of sand in an hourglass
That has laid still and untouched
For centuries
I see the winds in the night blow through
The branches of dead trees as they scatter
Their lifeless leaves around me
But I feel nothing
I try to embrace them as my own
For I too am in Death
Seeking to break free
But I feel nothing
Only a mournful longing
For a life I can't remember
But commands my every move
Towards my own grave
Possessed and bound to this journey
I beg Death to light the cemetery
To show me the path
To reunite with myself
And put an end to this eternal dream of life
